SimpleTOUGH Drives By Hitachi Are Tough Suckers
14Jul09
Hitachi bought out Fabrik, the maker of some real slick hard drives.
Throw it on the ground. I dare you.
The guys at Hitachi have took up the idea as well and is releasing a series of SimpleTOUGH harddrives; available in 500 GB, 250 GB and 100GB capacities. And good thing is they’re not too expensive. You can get them for $150, $120 or $100 respectively. What makes these little things so damn nifty is that they can survive falls from 9 feet making it both tough and stylish. So if you have a history of dropping hard drives, be comforted in knowing that there IS something for you.

Nice, but this product is not too attractive for people who carry computer data around themselves now days. The portable hard drives are much heavier and larger than a simple USB Flash Drive, making the hardware not as “portable” as it may sound to customers.
I recommend a 100GB USB Flash drive instead of this hard drive… because I believe that I can drop my USB from 90 feets above and the data in my USB will survive the fall.
